Why Art Is Important

Updated: Apr 24, 2022

It was everyone's favorite class in Elementary school. Many can collectively agree that art is fun yet not many include it in their day-to-day life. Here are my reasons as to why you need to do more art as an adult.

1. It's an easy stress reliever

All you need is a pencil and paper. Put on a YouTube tutorial and you are good to go. It has been proven that art can be a stress reliever for many and it's time more adults incorporate it into their daily life. If you do not like to draw, how about an adult coloring book? Adult coloring books are coloring books with a lot more detail, great for adults who want to focus on

art , coloring , art supplies , art content, art lovers , art curators , art buyers , adult coloring book, stress relief using art, art therapy , relaxing art . artist , prisma colored pencil , wooden colored pencil

something other than their day-to-day life. Making art is a free, healthy way of managing stress and should be more normalized. There are even sip and paint classes that you can take with your group of friends. You don't have to be a star painter to gain the benefits of creating art.

2. Art Can Make You Very Patient

When making art you have to have a good eye. You are forced to pay attention to details and sometimes follow some very thin lines. What are the benefits of this? Well, It can help you apply it to your daily life. Becoming observant comes with patients, and having patients is definitely a skill that needs to be mastered. Making art is a very tedious task and the more you do it the more you will build your endurance. Building your patience will make other tedious tasks like driving, school working, or your 9-5 job a little more durable.

3. Art Stimulates the Imagination

Art can help you tap in

creative min , art ideas , art details, art explanantion , art lovers, art content , art advice, artist, arte, painting , paint, imagination , creative side , art is an expression , art and mind, creative side, creative person , unique

to a creative side you didn't know existed. Art is an expression of self and sometimes people don't really know how to express themselves because they never get the opportunity to do so. My advice…experiment with your creative side. Start small but start. The most beautiful and unique inventions have been created in the mind of a creative person. Even if all you end up with is bad framed art for your hallway, the journey will unlock a unique part of you.

4. Boost your self-esteem and sense of accomplishment

I don't care how old you get, there is no better feeling than showing someone something and saying “ look what I made”. Even if your first piece isn't great, the second one will be better. Art can boost your self-esteem because it is something rare and unique. I know that I personally can never stop talking about my art. Oh, that reminds me .. check out my art portfolio in the link below.

But anyway, I want that sense of accomplishment for everyone. I want everyone to know the feeling of making something and enjoy the feeling of sharing it with the world.

If you're going to take anything away from this post it's this. Create, create, create !!! Even if it's bad, even if it's just for fun, even if you're shy about sharing it with the world. There are so many benefits to the art process, and I want everyone to reap those benefits. I wish you all a happy and peaceful art-making!
